shift_ed to Host Ribbon Cutting and Open House at New Office
shift_ed is making another bold move - this time to a new office in downtown Greensboro - and it’s inviting community members to help celebrate!
The organization's new mailing and physical address is 125 S. Elm St., Suite 500, Greensboro, NC 27401.
Community members and shift_ed scholars past and present are invited to attend a ribbon cutting and open house on March 16 from 2:30-5 p.m. The ribbon cutting, hosted in conjunction with the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, will be at 3 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
The organization’s new headquarters is located on the fifth floor of the historic Dixie Building, named for its original tenant - the Dixie Fire Insurance Company. Built in 1904 and designed by architect Frank A. Weston, the building was the first skyscraper in Guilford County.
"We are thrilled to become part of the downtown Greensboro community," said President & CEO Wendy Poteat. "When attending a shift_ed SAT workshop or tutoring session, our scholars will be walking on the same sidewalks as the A&T Four and passing by businesses at which they one day might work.”
