GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guerrilla RF, a wireless semiconductor company headquartered in Greensboro, will expand its operations to a 50,000-square-foot facility at 2000 Pisgah Church Road. This $6 million expansion will create 50 new jobs.

“Guerrilla RF is excited to expand its operations within Guilford County – and Greensboro in particular,” said Ryan Pratt, founder and CEO of Guerrilla RF. “We are growing at an incredible pace, and the facility on Pisgah Church Road fits in exceptionally well with our ongoing expansion. Building upon our existing roots here in Greensboro is only natural given the Triad’s importance as a worldwide epicenter for semiconductor design and manufacturing.”

The new jobs created through the expansion will have an average wage of $100,000. Mayor Nancy Vaughan said it will have an enormous impact on the local workforce.

“The impressive number of new high paying tech jobs reflects the City Council’s economic development goal to bring more quality jobs to the community,” she said.

Guerrilla RF has been headquartered in Greensboro since its inception in 2013. Guilford County Board of Commissioners Chair Skip Alston said the company’s decision to expand here is a credit to the county.

“Nothing beats first-hand knowledge, and Guerrilla RF’s previous experience in our county gave them the confidence to expand their business here,” he said. “The Commission is excited to watch the company continue to grow at such a rapid rate.”

Guerrilla RF was awarded a NC Building Reuse Grant for $475,000 by the Department of Commerce to help with the expansion. The building it will occupy is owned by Koury Corporation.

“Koury is thrilled to be partnering with Guerrilla RF in such an exciting project.” said Mike Longmore, senior vice president of Koury Corporation. “Having such a high-caliber technology group as the centerpiece of our 70-plus acre Crosspoint mixed-use project will coincide with our major redevelopment plan for the overall site.”

Guerrilla RF has been part of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce’s talent development pipeline since 2014, when Pratt participated in a summer program for startups. He went on to become a winner of the Chamber’s annual Capital Connects pitch competition.

“Watching Guerrilla RF’s acceleration and growth is particularly exciting for us,” said Brent Christensen, president and CEO of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. “Guerrilla RF is the perfect example of the pipeline we have built -- from an early-stage company at LaunchLab, through gaining exposure and funding at the Capital Connects pitch competition, to working with our Existing Industry team on the decision to expand and remain here in Greensboro and Guilford County. We are so proud of their continued growth.”

The Guilford County Economic Development Alliance, consisting of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and High Point Economic Development Corporation, worked together with the City of Greensboro, Guilford County, Guilford Technical Community College, the Guilford County Workforce Development Board, North Carolina Department of Commerce, and the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, in securing Guerrilla RF’s investment in Guilford County.
