Gilero LLC Establishes Life Sciences Manufacturing in Greensboro with Major Investment
Gilero LLC, a Sanner Group company specializing in contract design and manufacturing business for medical and drug delivery devices and pharmaceutical packaging, has announced plans to expand its operation into Greensboro, NC. The expansion represents a $6.4 million investment and is projected to create 37 new jobs. This marks another major milestone for Gilero, which currently operates six sites globally, including two existing locations in North Carolina.
The new 60,500-square-foot facility will be located at 486 Gallimore Dairy Rd. and is expected to be operational in summer 2025. It will be dedicated to producing critical components for medical devices and pharmaceutical packaging, as well as desiccant filling for moisture management of critical pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals. Equipped with state-of-the-art injection molding machines, quality control laboratories, and humidity-controlled production areas, the facility will significantly boost Gilero’s manufacturing capabilities, allowing it to deliver even more comprehensive solutions to its clients.
"The City welcomes this expansion and congratulates Gilero on its multi-million dollar investment," said Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan. "We value opportunities to bring innovation to our workforce, while growing jobs in the life sciences sector."
“Guilford County is proud to welcome Gilero. Their investment in our area is a testament to our commitment to fostering a pro-business environment,” said Guilford County Board of Commissioners Chairman Melvin “Skip” Alston. “This project brings valuable economic opportunities and reinforces our position as a leader in North Carolina’s growing life sciences sector.”
“Expanding in Greensboro allows us to enhance our operations with strategic proximity to our Durham headquarters,” said Wade Stauffer, VP, Manufacturing, Molding, and Assembly at Gilero. “This facility will be crucial in supporting our site’s mission to deliver precision-engineered components for the medical and pharmaceutical industries, ensuring we meet our clients' stringent regulatory and quality requirements.”
“This expansion represents a collaborative victory for our region,” added Brent Christensen, President & CEO of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. “It highlights how our public and private partners are working together to create a thriving business ecosystem that attracts and retains innovative companies like Gilero.”
The Greensboro facility will support the integration of manufacturing and design capabilities, reinforcing Gilero’s position as a leader in the medical device industry, while contributing to North Carolina’s economic growth.
The Guilford County Economic Development Alliance, consisting of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and High Point Economic Development Corporation, worked together with the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, City of Greensboro, Guilford County, Duke Energy, Guilford Technical Community College, Guilford Works, Piedmont Natural Gas, and North Carolina Department of Commerce in securing Gilero LLC’s investment in Guilford County.
