GUILFORD COUNTY — High school students, parents and community members are invited to Guilford Apprenticeship Partners Community Night on Monday, November 18 from 6-8:30 p.m.

The event will take place at Guilford Technical Community College’s Cameron Campus, 7908 Leabourne Road, Colfax.

GAP Community Night is an opportunity for members of the public to learn more about how the program gives students a jump start on a promising career, a college degree and financial stability.

“This event is a win-win for both the GAP partners as well as students and their parents,” said Patrick Chapin, President and CEO of Business High Point - Chamber of Commerce. “It’s a terrific platform to see how impactful apprenticeships are.”

Attendees will have a chance to meet and ask questions of the 34 companies that offer youth apprenticeships through the program, along with representatives from GTCC, Guilford County Schools and the NC Apprenticeship Program.

A panel of current apprentices and employers will talk about their experiences, and participants will have a chance to ask them questions one-on-one later in the evening.

“Adults can talk to students about GAP all day long, but it’s no substitute for hearing about the benefits of the program from their classmates,” said Brent Christensen, President and CEO of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce.

GAP’s new supply chain and logistics track will be highlighted with tours of GTCC’s full-scale training warehouse.

The event is free, but registration is encouraged. Visit bit.ly/GAPCommunityNight19.
