First Launch Capital Fund Announces Seventh Investment

Greensboro, North Carolina—First Launch Capital Fund, a pre-seed/seed-stage venture capital fund headquartered in Greensboro, has closed an investment in Fuse Oncology (Fuse), a spin-out of Cone Health/Cone Ventures.

First Launch Capital Fund (FLCF), formed in 2018, invests in entrepreneurs and companies at the earliest stage of their development to expand the culture of innovation throughout the 12-county Piedmont Triad region. The Fund is focused on capital appreciation, economic development and job creation through investments in early-stage companies with high growth and future funding potential.

Fuse Oncology, FLCF’s seventh investment, is creating a new practice management platform that improves efficiency, quality and safety in oncology practices. The Fuse platform supports the entire patient engagement cycle, from compressing the time required to take cancer patients from initial consultation to treatment, to streamlining the billing process and automating tasks to reduce error rates.

Fuse Oncology was spun out to commercialize technologies developed and utilized at Cone Health over the last several years. The company is currently expanding its platform capabilities and selling to other radiation-oncology practices.
