- Operation Backpack as a traditional weekend food support for students and their caregivers
- Staff 2 Student Crisis Care Corner for GCS staff who are made aware of a student's emergency food need to pick up food and deliver it to the student.
- Fresh Mobile Market (FMM), a program that increases access to fresh food for those who are food insecure. Program includes:
- Fresh Mobile Market is a mobile food pantry that delivers about 55 pounds of fresh produce, meat, deli/dairy, bread and nonperishable food items to those who qualify. Please visit our website for locations, dates and times.
- Produce Bags containing 6-8 produce items to be offered as a fresh food supplement
- Senior Bags containing 6-8 produce items for low-income seniors
- Food Reclamation Initiative that diverts over 1.3 million tons of food waste from the landfills. Food that is collected from restaurants, grocery stores and distributors is sorted into three groups.1) Within the manufacturers date to distribute in the N2T program. 2) Within the extended shelf-life standards as is recommended by federal regulatory agencies to be distributed in the FMM program. 3) Outside of these guidelines to be given to local farmers for animal feed and compost.
- Shared-use Kitchen. OOTGP manages two shared-use commercial grade kitchens in Greensboro. One is low-risk and the other is a level 2. Both are available to rent by the hour or by the day for food entrepreneurs. Visit our website for more information, how to apply and to schedule a tour!
