Job Summary
The EHS Assistant supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist in ensuring a safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible workplace within the aircraft tire retreading facility.

Position Duties:

• Assists with implementing safety programs, monitoring work practices, conducting inspections, and maintaining compliance with aviation, environmental, and occupational safety regulations.
• Helps promote a strong safety culture among plant and warehouse teams, focusing on preventing accidents, controlling hazards, and protecting employees and the environment.
• Supports the EHS Specialist in managing and enforcing safety and environmental policies throughout the facility.
• Conducts regular safety inspections in retreading, curing, and buffing areas.
• Assists with monitoring compliance with OSHA, EPA, and BSJ -related safety and environmental requirements.
• Help maintain documentation for incident reports, risk assessments, chemical inventories (SDS), and environmental waste records.
• Participates in accident and near-miss investigations and assist in tracking and implementing corrective actions.
• Supports the delivery of EHS training programs, including PPE use, lockout/tagout, hazardous materials handling, ergonomics, and emergency response.
• Participates in emergency drills, inspections, and fire safety equipment checks.
• Promotes employee engagement and safety awareness through daily communication, safety boards, and team meetings.
• Provides administrative support to the EHS Specialist including recordkeeping, report preparation, and data entry.
• Other duties as required to maintain compliance with all regulations.

Position Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or coursework in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, or Industrial Hygiene preferred.
• Previous experience in manufacturing is required.
• Familiarity with OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, and environmental management practices.
• Able to work with others in the team.
• Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal. Public speaking.
• Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal or graphical form.
• Able to speak and lead group discussions and training sessions.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize safety hazards.
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) experience.
