Coffee & Conversation brings together large and small businesses, organizations, and community members. The event combines networking with educational programming, covering a diverse range of topics related to the Chamber's initiatives, such as local agendas, talent development, economic growth, and support for entrepreneurs. Discussions also include city and county-wide initiatives, as well as topics specifically chosen for the community. Participants have the opportunity to share information about their businesses during the networking session, fostering meaningful connections and engagement. Coffee & Conversation serves as a vibrant platform for collective growth, collaboration, and building valuable relationships among attendees from all backgrounds, promoting a stronger and more interconnected business community.

Action Greensboro and the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the NC Early Childhood Foundation through its Family Forward NC initiative, is launching a campaign to increase the number of greater Greensboro employers providing family-friendly workplace benefits.

In 2023, Action Greensboro commissioned the inaugural Guilford County Talent & Workplace Survey. The comprehensive survey gathered responses from over 600 Guilford County organizations on factors including talent and recruitment. In addition to other key findings, the Talent & Workplace Survey reported that only seven percent of survey participants provided family-friendly workplace benefits. These benefits included wellness rooms, paid parental leave, childcare benefits, on-site childcare, family/elder care and flex-time.

With this opportunity gap, Action Greensboro and Family Forward NC are partnering to increase the number of greater Greensboro employers who are designated as offering policies and practices that support the health and well-being of working families and children. Family friendly workplace policies also improve workplace productivity, recruitment and retention and grow a strong economy. We have a bold goal to ensure 85,000 employees in Greater Greensboro working for Family Forward NC Certified Employers by 2025.
