2023 Accelerate Economic Equity Summit + Opportunity Fair

The morning and lunch sessions are SOLD OUT. Any registrations for the Minority Business Opportunity Fair will only admit you to the 3-6pm session.

The Accelerate Economic Equity Summit + Opportunity Fair will be held on Thursday, May 25^th, 2023 at the Greensboro Coliseum Special Events Center.

The purpose of this event is to educate the business community about the importance of purposeful, targeted Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) efforts and to expose ethnic minority-owned firms in the region to contract opportunities with large companies, public institutions, and municipalities.

Beginning at 9:00 AM, the Economic Equity Summit portion of Accelerate will consist of two sessions emceed by a powerhouse team including Ivan Canada, Executive Director, North Carolina for Community and Justice (NCCJ); Jada Monica Drew, CEO, Social Designs; and Niketa Greene, Chief Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Officer, Cone Health.  

The first session, Sharpen Your Inclusion Edge: The 8 Step Approach, is a hands-on workshop presented by Jada Monica Drew, CEO, Social Designs.  

The second session, titled FACTS: DEI Does Impact an Organization's Bottom Line! is moderated by Marvin J. Price, Executive Vice President - Economic Development at the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and features Lu-Ann Barry, Executive Director of the Women's Business Center of Greensboro and Wilson Lester, Managing Partner and Co-Founder at Partners in Equity.  

There will be a plated luncheon from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM anchored by featured speaker Kevin J. Price, President & CEO of the National Institute of Minority Economic Development.  

The second part of the day, the Minority Business Opportunity Fair, will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 PM. The Fair is free and open to the public for minority business owners looking for contract opportunities with large companies, public institutions, and municipalities. Regional business resources, breakout sessions, and strategic networking are also available.

Tickets to the Economic Equity Summit and Luncheon are available for members @ $75 and non-members @ $100.  The Minority Business Opportunity Fair is open to the public at no charge.
