James M. Pleasants Company, Inc. (JMP) Announces Major Expansion in Greensboro, North Carolina

Greensboro, N.C. – James M. Pleasants Company, Inc. (JMP), a prominent leader in HVAC, plumbing, and pumping equipment solutions, has announced a significant expansion of its operations to 238 Ritters Lake Rd, Greensboro, North Carolina. This $30 million investment will create 40 new jobs with an average wage of $64,250 while retaining 113 existing positions in the area.

Established in 1958, JMP represents over 50 product lines for manufacturers, in addition to providing complete solutions from its own packaged solutions division. JMP is dedicated to providing energy-efficient solutions for water, steam, and condensate systems.

“Having such an established company expand its operations in Greensboro is a testament to our priority of being the easiest place to do business,” said Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan. “We applaud JMP's impressive growth and focus on producing sustainable solutions through its energy-efficient products.”

“JMP’s expansion project will preserve and create jobs in Guilford County while also supporting the growth of the region’s manufacturing cluster,” said Melvin “Skip” Alston, Chairman of the Guilford County Board of Commissioners. “In addition, the investment reflects the company’s commitment to a community that values it as a long-standing partner.”

“We have a very strong leadership team and workforce in Greensboro, and this expansion makes a strong statement about our ongoing commitment to our team, the Greensboro community, and the commercial and industrial markets we currently serve from this facility,” said Chuck Moore, JMP’s Vice President of Operations. “We couldn’t be more excited about this expansion — not only what it means for our company but what it means for Greensboro and the Triad region as well,” he added.

“We’re thrilled that JMP is keeping its headquarters in Greensboro and creating several new jobs in the area. This is a big win not only for our workforce but, more importantly, for the overall economic vitality of the community,” said Sherri Thomas, Board Chair of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce. “We’re proud to be a part of the collaboration between JMP, the State of North Carolina, and our economic development partners to make this happen.”

The Guilford County Economic Development Alliance, consisting of the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce and High Point Economic Development Corporation, worked together with the Economic Development Partnership of North Carolina, City of Greensboro, Guilford County, Duke Energy, Guilford Technical Community College, Guilford Works, Piedmont Natural Gas, and North Carolina Department of Commerce in securing James M.
