Heads Up For Our Youth Hosts 10th Annual Back to School Rally: A Decade of Impact and Community Celebration

Greensboro, NC – Heads Up For Our Youth (HUFOY) proudly presents the 10th Annual Back to School Rally on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the First Horizon Special Events Center in Greensboro, NC. This landmark celebration marks 10 years of unwavering commitment to providing essential resources, access, and empowerment to underserved youth and families in Guilford County and surrounding communities. 

With a focus on equity in education, HUFOY will provide 1,000 quality bookbags filled with school supplies to help students enter the school year confident, prepared, and inspired. 

Community Resources & Empowerment 

The rally brings together over 30 vital community partners, offering resources such as: 

• Swimming lesson sign-ups 

• Health & wellness support from Cone Health 

• GCS Kindergarten registration 

• Life insurance & real estate assistance 

• Mental health therapy & family counseling 

• Mentoring and after-school programs 

• Workforce and education support from Shift Ed 

• GCS Job Fair for substitute teachers, cafeteria workers, and bus drivers 

“From school readiness to family wellness to job access, this event creates one big bridge to opportunity,” said Dwayne Shaw, Executive Director of HUFOY. “We’re celebrating a decade of purpose, passion, and people coming together for progress.”

Scholarships for Student Excellence Three outstanding Guilford County students will be awarded $1,000 HUFOY Scholarships, honoring academic achievement, leadership, and service.
