Great company with great benefits!! The general and administrative department helps provide guidance and support to its four divisions. The accounting assistant is an important position that supports and helps maintain the overall healthy functioning of the company. The accounting assistant reports to the VP of Finance and assists with accounting and inventory tasks to maintain accurate records and timely reporting.

Accounting Assistant Responsibilities

  • Cross train to back  up the VP of Finance job duties
  • Make entries into the general  ledger and reconcile general ledger accounts
  • Assist with closing the month, quarter, and year in a timely manner
  • Create timely reports  as needed for the board of directors or business partners
  • Work with auditors for the annual audit
  • Assist with the taking of physical inventory
  • Help maintain accurate inventory records by reconciling inventory after both cycle counts and physical inventory
  • Maintain a regular schedule for cycle counts and ensure that they are completed in a timely manner
  • Other duties as assigned by the President and/or the VP of Finance

Accounting Assistant Requirements

  • Accounting degree preferred (associate’s or higher) or a good working knowledge  of general ledger accounting
  • Good computer skills
  • Microsoft Excel
  • General ledger accounting
  • Experience working with inventory a plus
  • Works well with diverse personalities
  • Teachable/willing to learn
  • Team player who will assist others as needed
