The Accelerate Economic Equity Summit + Opportunity Fair will be held on Thursday, July 18th, 2024 at North Carolina A&T State University. Our Title Sponsors are Cone Health and Bank of America, and this event is being hosted in partnership with the Greensboro Chamber and East Greensboro NOW.
The purpose of this event is to educate the business community about the importance of purposeful, targeted diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts and to expose ethnic minority-owned firms in the region to contract opportunities with large companies, public institutions, and municipalities.
Beginning at 10AM, the day starts at Harrison Auditorium, with a short program to share vital updates about supplier diversity and economic equity in our region, followed by a can’t-miss fireside chat featuring real stories from successful businesses.
“Real Talk. Real Stories”
Moderated by: Felicia Woodard, NC Triangle & Triad’s Business Banking Market Executive for Bank of America
At 12PM, the day continues at the Alumni-Foundation Event Center, with a Triad Business Journal (TBJ) Leaders in Diversity Panel, accompanying lunch.
From 1:45-3:45, there will be two tracks of workshops offered at the Alumni-Foundation Event Center:
One track is for HR, DEI, business partners and administrative professionals, and will address equity in the workplace.
The other track is for minority-owned businesses, covering topics such as financing, strategic and succession planning, and procurement.
The Minority Business Opportunity Fair will be held from 4 – 6PM in Corbett Sports Center at NCA&T. Companies with contracting opportunities and/or supplier diversity goals are encouraged to sponsor a booth at the fair. Attendance at the fair will be open to local minority-owned firms. The goal of the opportunity fair is to create space for mutually-beneficial relationships to develop between minority-owned businesses and regional anchor institutions. There will also be business resources and strategic networking.
Lot #39, on Luther Street, and Lot #17 are our designated parking lots for the day. Campus staff will be on hand to help with parking and shuttle service will begin at 9 am to transport attendees from the parking lots to Harrison Auditorium (#28)
Following the morning session, shuttles will be available to return attendees to the Alumni Event Center (#21), for the afternoon track.
